Dr. Gul Rahman got his PhD in Physical Chemistry/Clean Energy and Chemical Engineering in 2013 from Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Seoul, and University of Science and Technology (UST) Republic of Korea. His PhD research was focused on the study of metal oxide semiconductors for photoelectrochemical water splitting. His PhD research work awarded him with Academic Excellence Award from KIST, as well as Excellence Award from UST.

Dr. Gul has worked as Visiting Scientist at KIST from Aug. 2013 to Nov. 2013 and then moved to Yonsei University Korea as Post doc researcher. In Jan. 2015, he joined Institute of Chemical Sciences, University of Peshawar as Assistant Professor. Dr. Gul joined KIST in July 2017 as visiting scientist under the project KIST Alumni Project 2017.

Dr. Gul is actively involved in teaching/research activities and several undergrade and graduate students are working under his supervision. His main research activities are focused on the low-cost synthesis of nanostructured metal oxides, sulfides and their composites/heterostructures with carbon-based materials for photovoltaic and optoelectronic applications. His work has been published in various reputed international journals. In addition, he is a member of the Pakistan Chemical Society, Korean Chemical Society, Korean Electrochemical Society, and a member of the editorial board of Applied Chemical Engineering Journal.
